SENIOR ECONOMIST

Review and update the 4 year programmatic plan, participate in review and evaluation of bid documents, prepare monthly, quarterly, semi annually, and annually progress reports, revise and update project monitoring and evaluation manual, prepare economic, financial analyses and appraisal note, facilitate information exchange, organize and conduct training and other related activities.

Qualifications and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or MA in Economics, Development Economic, Economics Policy analysis, financial economics or related field. A minimum of 10/8 years of relevant experience in project appraisals, monitoring and evaluation, sustainable Development, program impact Assessments Local Development and infrastructural planning, socioeconomic research;The Economist shall have comprehensive experience and knowledge in Economic analysis including monitoring and evaluation, project design and review and training skill of financial and Economic analyses.Work Experience as Economist with Town water utilities and /or Regional water Bureaus will be advantageous.

Competencies:

Able to work with multiple people of different backgrounds. Strong interpersonal and communication skill in substantive and technical area.Fluency in both spoken and written English.Training taken related both in international and local institution proficient in the usage of computers and software package (word processing, spread sheet etc) and experience in handling of web based data and information management system. Strong monitoring and reporting skills (periodic technical reports) strong knowledge of financial and economic analyses of development projectsOpenness to change and ability to manage complexities. Good writing, editing and analytical skills and capability of working independently.Ability to work effectively, take initiative and deliver results, even under pressure, and willingness to visit sites in remote areas.

Monthly salary: 15.000 ETB with 700 ETB transport allowance

Duration: Two years contract with possible extension and 6 months of probation period
