The SNNPR Mines and Energy Agency/ Region Biogas Program Coordination Unit/ would like to recruit competent and interested applicants for the following job positions.

Job Position:-Biogas Technician

Duty Station:-Hawassa with frequent travel to project sites/ woredas

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the quality management of the RBPCU.
Work in standardization of biogas digester designs and improvement of such designs when the need arises
Prepare regular field trips
In cooperation with the slurry and extension officer ensure the proper training and timely graduation of qualified masons and adherence of each masons to required quality standards: follow up on the development of capacity of private masons in becoming credible construction companies and cooperative committed for the expansion and development of biogas in Ethiopia
Supervise construction sites, oversee the selection of appropriate plant locations construction and timely construction of the right standard and quality biogas plants;
Assist to oversee the testing of quality standards initially for all biogas plants constructed and gradually on randomly selected sample biogas digesters as the number of plants and coverage increases;
To oversee the procurement and delivery of the right material and equipment to biogas construction.
Oversee the promotion of and timely after sales and maintenance service by designated masons to commissioned biogas plants and ensure the provision of immediate trouble shooting and maintenance services and advice when requested by biogas owners.
Cooperate with the training and extension officer, marketing and promotion officer and with other units at the NBPCU and RBPCUs in facilitating the construction of reliable biogas digesters
Work in integrity, team work, responsiveness, accountability and commitment for the success of the programme.
Achieve other activities directed by the immediate supervisor.

Job Qualification and Requirements

Education:-MSc/BSc in Mechanical, Civil, Construction management or related fields
Experience:-4 years for MSc and 6 year for BSc

Special Skill:

Knowledge on biogas/ renewed energy development, Quality management/ biogas construction, maintenance and supervision on construction projects.
Project based experience is advantageous.
Computer application such as World, Excel, Access, Power point ability in assessing, inspiring , motivating and coaching of biogas masons/companies and users, supervision on construction of projects and quality control management.

Salary:-As per the organization scale (Birr 9,800).
