WEEMA International (WEEMA) is a not-for-profit organization licensed to operate in Ethiopia as a foreign charity. WEEMA works in Sothwestern Ethiopia with thematic focus areas of water, education, economic empowerment and medical care. The organization is currently looking for hiring competent employees in various departments. Accordingly, the organization is inviting potential candidates to apply for the following positions.

Job Title: HR admin officer

Salary scale: Negotiable

Reports to: Country Representative

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Job Purpose

Under the general direction of CR, Plans, Organizes, directs, coordinates and control the personnel administrations, manpower development activities of the organization, participate in the recruitment, placement, personnel filling, safety and other personnel policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Improve the current and other policies of the organization and participate in developing new ones.
  • Check references and back grounds of candidates for different positions in recruitments
  • Write letters (official and personal) as per the forms and procedures of WEEMA INTERNATIONAL, INC
  • Arrange incoming applications and make first-phase screening as per the application process
  • Arrange all relevant documents in box files
  • Organize and document all the personnel files for all the field offices on time and regular basis as per the personnel file check list of the organization
  • Organize and monitor time sheets for all staff
  • Audit the personnel files and check the fulfillment of all the mandatory documents and inform to the concerned person on time.
  • Copying and documenting project agreements and related files
  • Work closely with the HR team, programmatic team and country representative
  • Perform other tasks and support the team as per the assignment by the CR.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Human Resources Management, Management, Business Administration, Personnel Management or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years and INGO experience is an asset
  • Computer proficiency in MS Applications including Excel, MS word and power point 

Job Title: Office attendant

Salary Scale: Negotiable

Reports to : HR and Admin officer 

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Job Purpose

Under the general direction of HR and admin officer, the person is expected to Maintain office operations including cleaning, preparing refreshments, warehouse control and distribution of supplies

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • To maintain cleanliness of offices
  • To perform activities such as receiving and delivering documents or items, including correspondence, memorandum, publications, records, files, packages, and similar within office as per superior’s instruction.
  • Maintains supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating requirements; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items; delivering supplies to work stations.
  • To assist with basic office duties such as photocopying, filling and assisting other staff upon their demand.
  • To attend visitors.
  • To perform other related tasks upon demand to support all office employees and assist them in performance of their official duties.

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 (EGSEC certified)
  • Computer certified
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar or related work

Job Title: Driver

Salary Scale: Negotiable

Reports to Logistician

Duty station: Addis Ababa

Job purpose

Under the general direction of the Logistician, the person is expected to undertake the overall driving assignments of all vehicles owned or rented by the organization and execute other relevant works to the logistics department both at the field and head office level as per the HR and other relevant policies.

Duties and Responsibilities    

  • Undertakes driving assignments of vehicles as and when assigned by his/her supervisor;
  • Operates, maintains and cleans assigned vehicles with care and reports any damage and/or suspected fault immediately to his/her supervisor;
  • Responsible for safe transport of staff, guests and materials assigned to him/her;
  • Ensures that the vehicle is kept overnight in a secure location and that the vehicle key is handed over to the supervisor, unless explicitly agreed on otherwise by the supervisor;
  • Records and maintains the transport log-book for any vehicles assigned to him/her;
  • Responsible for the vehicles and all tools, equipment and spare parts on the vehicle assigned to him/her;
  • Liaises with his/her supervisor to ensure that routine service and maintenance is undertaken timely
  • Provide morning and after work driving service to the country Representative as needed

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 (EGSEC certified)
  • Legal certified and renewed driving license of Grade 3 and above
  • Five years of experience with at least 3 years of extensive NGO experience
  • Experience as an auto-mechanic is an asset.
